 Kakinada: Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) launched the Streets for People Design competition to crowdsource innovative ideas and attract citizen participation in reimagining streets as safe, healthy and happy public spaces for all.



Kakinada was one of 113 Indian cities registered for the Streets for People Challenge, an initiative of Smart Cities Mission. It aims to create walking-friendly streets and public spaces across Indian cities and ensure a green recovery from Covid-19.

Smart City CEO and MD Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar said that the design competition was open to all professionals and students from architecture, urban planning and other relevant fields.
